Companion Dog Sports Program
The Companion Dog Sports Program (CDSP) is a dog obedience organization that offers a relaxed and fun experience for both dogs and their handlers. CDSP obedience is based on a combination of traditional obedience exercises and guidelines, and is designed to be more accessible to a wider range of dogs and handlers.
Here are some details about CDSP obedience:
- Levels: There are five levels of obedience classes: Starter Novice, Novice, Open, Utility, and Versatility. All dogs must start in either the Starter Novice or Novice class.
- Exercises: Exercises vary slightly from other obedience organizations, and include off-lead heeling, recall, over broad jump, drop on recall, and more.
- Titles: To earn a title at each level, dogs must achieve three qualifying scores of 170 out of 200 from two different approved judges.
- Registration: Dogs must be at least six months old to be registered with CDSP, and any breed or mix is eligible, including disabled dogs.
We have been hosting CDSP obedience trials since 2009. We host 3 trials a year. They are on the same weekend and at the same location as our WCRL rally trials.
